3' tall in ten years. (5)
Stk# 67220S 5"
pot. . . $ 30.00
Pinus contorta ‘chief joseph’ (SOLD OUT)
This lodgepole pine is very unique in both its growth
rate, about half as fast as the species, and its color, which in winter is
strikingly bright yellow. In the Northwest it seems to suffer tip burn during
the winter when it is not grafted onto Pinus contorta. (3)
Stk# 67425S 5" pot . . . $ 50.00
Pinus contorta ‘frisian gold’
This selection from the shore pine was made by zu
Jeddeloh from a golden witches’ broom/sport. It slowly develops into a broad
bush with bright yellow foliage throughout the year. I have seen some plants
develop a terminal shoot and grow upward at a rapid rate. (7)
Stk# 67450S 5" pot . . . $
40.00

without burning. It grows 1' per year when established and will be 8' high
by 4' wide in ten years.

like a beacon in his garden. The winter color is such an intense orange-gold
that very few plants can even compete. In addition, it is reliably dwarf,
developing into a small, dense globe.
It grows about 2" per year on its fastest
shoots. The plant to the left in this picture is Pinus mugo 'Jacobsen'. (2)
