TOUGH ACT TO FOLLOW POWERPOINT
If you have any problems or if you do the download and would like more powerpoints made available in the future, please email me with your suggestions/comments. This is my first attempt at offering a powerpoint download on our web site. I have no way of knowing if anyone is playing or downloading these files other than via an email.
Please put "powerpoint" in the subject line of your email so I know it is not spam.
I have not copyrighted this powerpoint. It is a free download to anyone who wants it. It is a history of the founding of the American Conifer Society. I presented it at the 20th anniversary meeting of the Society in Denver in 2003. It was well received and is being made available as a free download here. It is a 72 megabyte download. If you download it to show to a group, just give credit as to where it came from.
The dialogue added to every slide increased the file size by @55 megabytes. But it was necessary.
I am not able to offer these powerpoints as stand alone, playable programs. You need to either have MS PowerPoint or MS PowerPoint Player to play the files as powerpoints. I have linked to powerpoint player below. By downloading the player, you can play any powerPoint, but you cannot make any changes to it.
PowerPoint Player 2007
Open Office
Another option is to go to the website listed below and download "Open Office". It is a free download of about 130 mb that gives you products that are compatible with MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel. When you download one of my powerpoint files, open it with the compatible Open Office Program and it will convert it to their format and allow you to play and even edit the program.
Feel free to share these or to use them at any sort of a group meeting. Just give credit as to where you obtained it.
Complete (72 megabyte download)
Download these videos into the same folder as the powerpoint and they will play when you play the powerpoint::
If you want to download the powerpoint in sections, I have made five stand alone powerpoints out of the original and they are offered below.
Part One: Introduction (20 slides)
Part Two: Collectors from !960's to the 70's (22 slides)
Part Three: Collectors from the 1960's into the 80's (31 slides)
Part Four: Collectors from the 1970's into the 80's (30 slides)
Part Five: Collectors from now into the future (16 slides plus music) (The three videos are in this section and should be downloaded into its folder for them to play)
